1. What is ''It's official – I'm a Hokie!''?
It's an online video submission campaign to capture and share the excitement when prospective students learn that they've been accepted to Virginia Tech.
2. Why are you doing this?
Because it marks a special moment in your life. An acceptance to Virginia Tech represents a major accomplishment. Thanks to sites such as YouTube, you can share your enthusiasm with others as you take your first steps to becoming a member of the Hokie community.
3. How will my video be used?
Approved entries will be featured on Virginia Tech's YouTube site. Entries may be used to promote the university on the web, TV, or in other formats.
4. How do I submit an entry?
Videos should be submitted to a digital drop box linked through the Virginia Tech YouTube website.
5. Where will my video be posted?
Go to www.youtube.com/virginiatech.
6. What format do I use?
You can use any format YouTube accepts. See a list.
7. Any limits on what I can send?
Videos that do not conform to the spirit of Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech policies will automatically be disqualified. This includes, but is not limited to; bodily harm to human or animal; damage of property, private or public, including theft; trespassing; offensive and vulgar language; anything of a sexual nature, direct or innuendo; any illegal activity of any kind; defamation of character; alcohol consumption and intoxication.
8. Will there be a winning entry?
No. This isn't a contest. It's a way of sharing a life-changing experience. Approved videos will be featured on Virginia Tech's YouTube page and may appear on one of Virginia Tech's affiliated websites.
